Singapore & Malaysia 2023 - Part 6

Universal Studios Singapore

Wednesday - August 9th 2023

Today we left Singapore for Resorts World Sentosa, because for the next two days we planned to visit Universal Studios Singapore. After breakfast we checked out and then we took the subway to Sentosa from where we had to change to the monorail that connects the main land with Sentosa Island. It didn't take long and we arrived at our hotel. On Sentosa Island we stayed at the Oasia Resort Sentosa located just a couple of minutes from Universal Studios Singapore. When we checked in, we got upgraded to a bigger room, which was really nice and spacious. After we unpacked and refreshed, we took the monorail to Universal Studios, where had to purchase tickets first.

Once we had our tickets it was finally time to visit Universal Studios Singapore. That park had been on my bucket list for quite some time now after we had visited all other Universal parks except for Universal Studios Beijing, but I'm sure that park will follow in the future. Our first stop was at Starbucks for an iced coffee and with the coffees in our hands we just strolled around Hollywood. Since it was already noon, we decided to get something to eat and we chose Oasis, an Oriental restaurant in Ancient Egypt. We ordered fried rice, samosas and chickpeas and we were suprised by the quality of the food. Afterwards the Waterworld stund show was about to start and so we got in line. The show was amazing, and although other Universal parks offer that show as well, it was our first time seeing it.

Afterwards it was time to check out the rest of the park and we started with Far Far Away, themed after the Shrek movies. First we did Shrek 4D, a simulator ride, which was fine and then we got ice cream before browsing through the shops. Since we had an Express Pass for the next day, we didn't bother going on the big rides, instead we just strolled through the different lands to see what's on offer. Back in the New York City area we did Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, a cute dark ride based on Sesame Steet. Now it was time for a short break with popcorn and beer.

After our short break we headed back to Far Far Away and rode the very small Enchanted Airways kiddie coaster. It was nothing special, but at least we got the coaster count. Next was Treasure Hunters in Ancient Egypt, where we traveled along an excarvation site in order to find treasures. Since the park was very crowded, we decided to leave and get a beer in one of the bars outside of the park. We found Harry's Bar and soon we had some refreshing beers on the table. A couple of drinks later we searched for something to eat for dinner and came across a street food park. There we stopped at The Goodburger to try their vegan Impossible Burgers and they were amazing. Later we got a cookie and then we just walked around Resorts World Sentosa before returning to the hotel.
