Honeymoon 2015 - Part 17

Our Last Day At Sea

Thursday - January 22nd 2015

Since another day at sea was lying ahead of us, we wanted to try the other fine dining restaurant and reserved a table at Remy for lunch. We started our day with breakfast at Cabanas and thanks to the warm weather we could eat outside, which was wonderful. Until our lunch reservation we still had plenty of time left and so we enjoyed the sunny weather on the sundeck with reading.

Now it was time for our lunch reservation. Together with other guests we were greeted by the chef and the head waiter. First they told us what the menu was like and what champagnes they were going to serve with the different dishes. Then we got the first glass of champagne and ratatouille. Afterwards we were brought to our table and the feast could begin. For the first course we got a blend of different tomatoes accompanied by a Taittinger Prestige Cuvée Rosé NV, followed by a Mediterranean Salad. The next two courses were Mushroom Gnocchi and Potato Cannelloni accompanied by Pommery Gold '06 champagne and for the dessert we had a delicious fruit salad with Moet & Chandon Ice NV. The champagne experience was 30 dollars extra, but it was totally worth it. I think we have never eaten in such a luxury restaurant. The whole lunch was fantastic and every course was excellent.

In the afternoon we returned to the sundeck and then we got ready for the evening. Today's evening entertainment was a musical called Disney's Believe. The musical was pretty good, but not as great as Aladdin. Afterwards we had dinner at Enchanted Garden and we both ordered the Asian Pear Salad, the risotto and ice cream. This was our least favourite meal, but it was still good. Of course we spent the rest of the evening at a bar, mainly in the beautiful Skyline Lounge.

Honeymoon 2015 - Part 18

Disney's Castaway Cay

Friday - January 23rd 2015

Today was the highlight of the cruise, because we spent the day at Disney's private island in the Bahams called Castaway Cay. After breakfast and watching the Fantasy docking at the harbour, we were on the way to Castaway Cay. At Disney you don't have to walk anywhere, even for short distances, like from the ship to the family beach, you can take the tram, but we walked. At the family beach we rented a bike and cycled along the runway to the lookout.

Then we were also lazy and took the tram to Serenity Bay, the adults only beach on Castaway Cay. What a wonderful and beautiful place. No children, no screaming, just a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the day. For lunch there was BBQ and we both got a veggie burger. Of course there was also a bar at Serenity Bay. It was named Castaway Air Bar and we had a couple of drinks there, especially the cocktails were very good.

In the late afternoon before we had to return to the ship, we checked out the shops at the family beaches, but there was nothing worth to buy. So we had one last drink at the Heads Up Bar. Unfortunately, now it was time to head back to the ship. Castaway Cay was great and we had such a good luck with the weather, because according to the crew, the last couple of weeks it was cold and raining.

Back to the Ship

Back on the Fantasy we watched the last show called An Unforgetable Journey, which was a bit dull, and then we had dinner at Royal Court. Today's menu included an Asian salad, spicy pancakes on lentils and of course ice cream. We were already a little bit sad, because the journey was coming to an end, but we spent the evening at the Bon Voyage Bar and at the Skyline Lounge, our favourite bar on the ship.
