Batu Caves
Monday - August 21st 2023
Today was already our last full day in Malaysia. After breakfast we headed to
the next monorai station and took the train to KL Sentral. From there we had
to take another train to our final destination, the famous Batu Caves. When we
arrived I was a little bit shocked to see all the monkeys romaing around and
to be honest, I was scared of them, because they came really close. The
Batu Caves
are one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India. We were really
impressed with the colourful temples and huge figurines, but nothing compared
to the huge stairs leading up to the caves. Since it was so warm and humid, we
sweated so much when walking up to the caves. I'm not sure if I sweated
because of the heat, or because of the many monkeys waiting to jump on me. The
caves were really amazing, but I was glad to leave about an hour later
again.

Back in Kuala Lumpur we had lunch at the Food Repuclic Food Court before
returning to the hotel. Unfortunately our room wasn't cleaned yet and so we
got a drink at the hotel bar while we waited. After we showered and relaxed a
bit, we headed to the pool only to find out it was going to close because of
the rain. So we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in the huge
shopping centres of Bukit Bintang. In the evening we stopped in a German bar
for beers and later we had dinner at the Food Repuclic Food Court again. Of
course I we got the vegan fried chicken rice gain. For dessert we got frozen
yoghurt and after spending more time in the shopping malls, we returned to our
hotel.
