Singapore & Malaysia 2023 - Part 16

Kuala Lumpur

Saturday - August 19th 2023

Our last destination was upon us. Today we left Genting Highlands for Kuala Lumpur. After breakfast we checked out and headed to the bus station to catch the next bus to Kula Lumpur. About an hour later we arrived at KL Sentral and there we stopped at Starbucks for a second breakfast before taking the monorail to Bukit Bintang, where our hotel was located. In Kuala Lumpur we stayed at the Capri by Fraser Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, the room wasn't ready yet, so we got a welcome drink at the hotel bar. Soon we were allowed into our roon, which was really nice and modern. After we unpacked and refreshed, we headed out into the city to get a late lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. There we ordered nachos and a veggie burger, which was really not very good.

After lunch we decided to check out the Petronas Twin Towers, since they were just a couple of minutes away. We didn't have any tickets, because the entry was sold out months in advance, but we were hoping for some last minute cancellations. Unfortunately we didn't have any luck, but since we knew beforehand, we weren't that disappointed. The Twin Towers looked amazing from the ground as well. So we took some pictures and then we walked back to our hotel to spend some time at the hotel pool.

Back at the hotel the pool was closed, because it started to rain. So we relaxed a little bit, took a shower and decided to check out the huge shopping malls in our neighbourhood instead. Luckily the rain stopped the moment we left the hotel and we just strolled around Bukit Bintang to see what it had to offer. For dinner we went to Jalan Alor Food Street, but besides fruits we weren't happy with the offerings, because it was just meat and fish. Disappointed we left and went to Pavilion Shopping Mall to try the huge Food Republic food court, where we found the same vegan restaurant called Nyonya Vege we had already tried at Genting Highlands. Of course we got the vegan fried chicken rice, but Claudia also tried a delicious dumpling soup. Afterwards we got frozen yoghurt for dessert and then we just strolled through the huge shopping mall until we returned to our hotel and called it a day.
