Innsbruck 2019 - Part 1

Going To Innsbruck

Friday - March 15th 2019

This year for our birthdays Claudia and I traveled to Innsbruck. We took Friday off and so after breakfast we were on our way to Innsbruck. Around noon we arrived at our hotel, but the room wasn't ready yet. Instead of checking in we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Unlike other Hard Rock Cafes around the world the one in Innsbruck has several vegan options on the menu. I got the burger while Claudia ordered the vegan mac'n'cheese. Both meals were delicious.

After lunch we just walked around the city, but since the weather was really bad, we checked out the local department stores. Once our room was ready, we headed back to the hotel. We stayed at the Stage 12 Hotel right in the city center. Our room was nice and comfortable with a lovely view on the mountain range behind the city. The weather was still bad, so we decided to get some drinks at the hotel bar. In the evening the rain finally stopped and we went out for dinner and late night shopping.

Innsbruck 2019 - Part 2

Exploring Innsbruck

Saturday - March 16th 2019

Today the weather was pretty good and so after breakfast we headed out to explore the city. Our first stop was the Ski Jumping Hill on Bergisel. It was just a short walk from the hotel and soon we were on top. There we got a cup of coffee at the restaurant from where we had a fantastic view over Innsbruck. Afterwards we walked back to the inner city. For lunch we stopped at Vappiano, but unfortunately it was a little bit of a disappointment, becuase Claudia's noodles didn't taste as remembered.

After lunch we decided to take the funicular to the top of the Nordkette mountain range. It was a bit pricey, but once we were on top, we got a couple of drinks at the snow bar and enjoyed the sunshine and the breathtaking view in our deck chairs. Back in the city we walked back to the hotel where we refreshed a bit. Before heading out for dinner we ordered some drinks and coffee at the hotel bar. For dinner we went to the Hard Rock Cafe again. For starter we shared the vegan nachos and for the main course we got the vegan burger and the pasta. After a cocktail we left and just strolled around the city until we returned to the hotel.
