Honeymoon 2015 - Part 6

EPCOT

Saturday - January 10th 2015

After breakfast we were on our way to EPCOT, but that took a bit longer than expected, because Disney was hosting the Marathon Weekend. The bus dropped us off at the Transportation and Ticket Center and from there we had to take the monorail to EPCOT. Once inside the park, our first stop was Test Track, a high speed car testing attraction. Since our last visit the ride received a new design and we liked it. Now it looks more futuristic. The ride itself was a lot of fun and it wasn't the last time we did it. Next was Mission Space, a very intense simulator that takes you on a journey to Mars. While I enjoyed it, Claudia had mixed feelings about it.

Then we wanted to do Ellen's Energy Adventure, but after we found out that it lasts for over half an hour, we skipped it, because we had a lunch reservation. Instead we went to Coca-Cola's Club Cool and tested different Coke beverages from around the world.

Now it was already time for our lunch reservation at Via Napoli and so we walked over to World Showcase. Via Napoli is a beautiful Italian pizza restaurant located in the Italy Pavilion. We got seated and soon we ordered a glass of wine and a vegetable pizza for two, which was huge. The pizza was okay, but we had better ones.

Afterwards we had a Fastpass reservation for Soarin', one of Disney's best rides in Florida. Soarin' is a hang glider simulator that takes guests on a flight over California. So we had to walk all the way back to Future World and since EPCOT is a huge park, we walked a lot. We also had a Fastpass for Captain EO, but we skipped it, because we did it last year at Disneyland Paris and although it was entertaining, it wasn't that impressive to do it again.

On the way back to World Showcase we stopped at Starbucks for coffee. Back in World Showcase we visited the Canada Pavilion and watched the CircleVision movie O Canada, that's a 360° film that showcases many Canadian cities. We loved it. Afterwards we got two Canadian beers, Moosehead and Labatt, and enjoyed them in the warm weather on a bench outside of the Canada Pavilion.

Next stop on our way around World Showcase was my favourite country, besides Austria of course, the United Kingdom. First we strolled through the shops and bought a Doctor Who magnet, but then the cover band British Revolution was about to start with their performance and so we quickly got two drinks and watched them. They were really good and it wasn't the last time we listened to them.

Afterwards we watched Impressions of France in the France Pavilion. This movie is about the beauty of the Grande Nation and although it is already a bit dated, it was nice. We spent the rest of the day walking through all the shops in the different pavilions. In Mexico we did the Gran Fiesta Tour, a boat ride through Mexico and later we had dinner at the Sunshine Seasons again. Like yesterday we ordered the vegan stir fry and then we took the bus back to the Port Orleans hotel.
