Japan 2018 - Part 4

Daytrip To Yokohoma

Friday - September 7th 2018

Claudia and I try to visit as many Hard Rock Cafes as possible and since there's a cafe in Yokohama we had to go there as well. We took the train from Shinjuku station and about an hour later we arrived in Yokohama, but it felt like we never left Tokyo. You wouldn't notice where Tokyo ends and Yokohama starts. From the main station we took a walk to Yokohama Bay Quarter, where we stopped at Starbucks for a late breakfast. After a short visit of the Nissan World Headquarter, there was a small museum about their cars, we went to the Landmark Tower. From there we took the train to Chinatown, apparently the biggest Chinatown in Asia outside of China. In Chinatown we had lunch at vegetarian Chinese restaurant and met a group of local pupils who wanted to practice their English with foreigners. Claudia and I had a nice little conversation with them about school. Then we took a picture together and we continued our walk through Chinatown. After we checked out most of the shops and bought some souvenirs, we returned to the Landmark Tower.

Besides Chinatown, visiting the Hard Rock Cafe was the main reason for us to travel to Yokohama and so we headed back to the cafe. A couple of drinks later we caught the train back to Tokyo, where we spent quite some time at a department store next to Shinjuku train station. Since shopping made us hungry, we went to Ripple for veggie burgers again. Back at the hotel we spent the rest of the evening at the hotel bar.
