Returning to Tokyo

Our train back to Tokyo didn't depart before noon and so we had some time to kill. After breakfast we checked out and took the train to
Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. It looked like more people had the same idea, because the train was so crowded we could barely move. However, once we arrived at the grove, it was much less crowded than expected. After we took a couple of pictures, we returned to the hotel to pick up our luggage and to catch the Shinkansen back to Tokyo.

After a relaxing train ride we arrived in Tokyo in the early afternoon. First we had lunch at T's Tan Tan and then we took the train to
Tokyo Disney Resort, our last destination of our Japan trip. We didn't stay at a Disney hotel, becuase the rooms were too expensive, instead we chose the
Hotel Mystays Maihama near Tokyo DisneySea. The hotel was about fifteen minutes by foot away from the train station. The hotel was nothing special, but our room was nice, clean and it was very quiet. The main selling point for us, besides budget, was the location near both Disney parks.

Once we unpacked our luggage, we headed to
Ikspiari, a shopping and
dining district like Disney Village in Paris or Downtown Disney in
Anaheim. To our surprise it was very disappointing. There were hardly
any nice shops or restaurants and it didn't feel like Disney at all. We
just wanted to get a drink, but there were no bars either. So we headed
to Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, to get cocktails there. Unfortunately the bar
was too crowded and so we couldn't get a table and we weren't allowed
to sit directly at the empty bar. So we left again, checked out the
Disney Store at Ikspiari and on the way back to our hotel we stopped at
Disney's Ambassador Hotel, where we got a table at the hotel bar. There
we enjoyed a couple of drinks and before we returned to our room, we stopped at the Lawson mini supermarket near our hotel to get some snacks.
