Japan 2018 - Part 12

Exploring Kyoto

Saturday -September 15th 2018

Today the weather was slighty better and soon we were on our way to explore Kyoto. Claudia and I started our tour at Ginkaku-Ji, the Silver Pavilion, which we liked better than the Golden Pavilion. Not only was the temple surrounded by a lovely stone garden, but also there were much less tourists. Afterwards we followed the Philosopher's Path to Nanzen-Ji Temple. Along that beautiful walk we stopped at small shop to try mochi. What a msistake! The owner of the shop was lacking hygene and so we didn't really try it. We made a picture and then we got rid of it.

Later Claudia and I spent some time in Kyoto's Old Town and then we headed to the shopping streets of Kyoto, where we had lunch at Ain Soph. We both had the veggie burger and for dessert Claudia got pancakes and I got the chocolate cake. After that delicious lunch we checked out the shops and stopped at Starbucks for coffee. On the way back to the hotel we got some snacks for our hotel picnic. The rest of the evening we spent at the hotel bar and enjoyed our last evening in Kyoto.
