Tokyo Disneyland
Monday - September 17th 2018
We knew beforehand that Tokyo Disneyland gets extremely crowded and so we made sure to be at the front gate at least half an hour before park opening. At the hotel we got a cup of coffee and soon we were on our way to the park. Although there was a shuttle service, we decided to walk, because it was just 20 minutes by foot. Once we arrived at the entrance, the crowds were already huge. We expected the worst for the day, but honestly it could have been much worse. Since we had already visited many other Disneyland parks, we were relaxed about doing attractions.

Once we were inside Disneyland park, we headed straight to Pooh's Hunny Hunt to get fastpasses for later. Since Pooh's Hunny Hunt is one of the most popular attractions in the park, it was a must do for us and luckily we hadn't wait too long for our time slot. In the meantime we got in line for Pinocchio's Daring Journey and to our surprise it was walk on. Since we still had time left until Pooh's Hunny Hunt, we queued for Haunted Mansion to experience the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, which was really cool. Finally it was time for Pooh's Honey Hunt. The ride itself was really cute and we enjoyed it a lot, but at least in my opinion, it was not that great as many Disney fans think it was. However, given when it was built, it was still impressive.

After Pooh's Hunny Hunt we just strolled around Fantasyland and noticed that another show of Mickey's Philharmagic was about to start. We saw that show already in Orlando a couple of years ago, but since there was no waiting time, we gave it another try. The show wasn't that bad, I actually enjoyed it despite being in Japanese. Afterwards we took a spin with Mad Hatter's Tea Cups and then it was time for lunch at Camp Junior Woodchucks. On the way we stopped for a fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain. As a big fan of the Disney Ducks comics, especially the ones by Carl Barks and Don Rosa, Camp Junior Woodchuck was a must do for me. While I got in line Claudia reserved a table, but to our surprise it wasn't that crowded at all. Since vegan options are very sparse at Tokyo Disney Resort, we only got fries, lemonade and a coffee.

Since we still had some time left until our fastpass was valid, we just walked around the park to make some pictures and to check out the stores. Unfortunately the merchandise was very disappointing. Finally it was time for Big Thunder Mountain. It's a classic at every Disney resort and Tokyo was no exception. Now we have ridden all Big Thunder Mountains, but the one at Disneyland Paris is still the best. After the wildest ride in the wilderness we got the custest ice cream bars. The Mickey and Minnie shaped bars came in the flavors of mango and strawberry and both were delicious.

Unfortunately Disneyland was really crowded and so the waitings times
were pretty long. So we took another walk around the park and once we
passed by Pirates of Caribbean we noticed the short line. After a safe
return from the Caribbean, we got a snack and then we bought some
souvenirs. In the late afternoon we left the park for Ikspiari, because
the crowds were just crazy. There we checked out some stores, but most
of the stores sold crap. So we decided to return to the hotel. On the
way we stopped at Lawson, where we got some snacks and drinks for
dinner. Back at the hotel we enjoyed a relaxing evening with a couple of
beers.
