Desert Tour
Wednesday - May 8th 2024
Today was probably the highlight of our vacation, because in the afternoon we
had booked a jeep tour through the dessert. Since the driver didn't pick us up
before the early afternoon, we decided to spend the morning at the pool. For
dinner we went to Salt at Dubai Marina Mall again and of course we got the
plant based Impossible Burger.

Around 2:00pm our driver Asan picked us up from the hotel and then we drove
for about an hour into the desert. Our tour package did not only include the
dune bashing with a jeep, but also a quad driving experience. When we arrived
we got a short introduction and then we were allowed to drive the quads around
the dunes, needless to say that was so much fun. Unfortunately after half an
hour the fun was over, because now it was time to head deeper into the
desert.

Once the group was ready we left the base in a convoy and drove into the
desert. The dune bashing was a lot of fun and we were really impressed by the
driving skills of our guides. Halfway through the tour we stopped in the
middle of the desert for some activities like sliding down the dunes with
boards. With the sun already going down the desert looked so much more
beautiful.

Soon we arrived at the camp, where the barbecue and the shows were about to
take place. Once we were seated at our table, which we shared with a lovely
couple from the UK, we got our drinks, even beer and wine were available, and
then the barbecue was ready for the guests. A huge buffet with oriental food
was prepared for us and of course the food was delicious. While enjoying our
meals we got to see a belly dance and an amazing fire show. Unfortunately the
desert tour came to an end and our driver took us back to the hotel, where we
arrived around midnight. There we enjoyed a glass of beer at the terrace and
called it a day.
