Disneyland Paris 2026 - Part 1

Arriving At Disneyland Paris

Our last visit to Disneyland Paris was in 2023 and so we thought it was time for another visit. Saturday morning we packed our stuff and hit the road towards Paris. It took us about eight hours by car until we arrived at Disney's European resort. Since all Disney Hotels were fully booked during our visit, we decided to try something new. Recently Disney refurbished all cabins at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch and so we stayed there for the very first time. Once we arrived, we checked in, got our themepark tickets and then it was finally time to check out our cabin. We booked one near the village, where the reception, the store, the saloon, the tavern and the indoor pool were located. Our cabin was equipped with a kitchen, a dining room, two bathrooms and two sleeping rooms and could accomodate up to six persons.

After we unpacked our stuff we walked to the village to get a welcome drink at the bar. Unfortunately the saloon wasn't open yet and so we checked out the General Store, the indoor pool and the rest of the ranch. Finally the saloon opened as well and so Claudia and I had a couple of drinks until it was time for our reservation at Crockett's Tavern, a buffet restaurant. The weather was so nice, which meant we got a table outside. At first we were a bit sceptical about the buffet restaurant, but the food was delicious and there were plenty of vegetarian and plant based options as well. After a wonderful dinner we got another drink and enjoyed the warm and lovely evening with our drinks at the fire place.

Stockholm 2026 - Part 1

On The Way To Sweden

My parents wanted to visit Stockholm for quite some time now and so Claudia and I decided to take the trip with them together. Thursday noon my parents picked us up and then we drove to Salzburg Airport from where we departed in the early afternoon towards Frankfurt. From there we had to catch a connecting flight to Stockholm, where we arrived in the evening. After taking the Arlanda Express into the city, we checked in to our hotel. We stayed at the Radisson Blu Royal Viking, because it was conveniently located just next to the main train station and Gamla Stan was in walking distance.

After checking in and dropping off our luggage we headed out into the city, because all of us were hungry. We decided to check out the restaurants in Gamla Stan and soon we found a lovely Italian restaurant called Da Peppe. We got a tale outside and soon we ordered our pizzas and pastas. The food was really good and so we had good start into our weekend trip. Afterwards we just strolled around Stockholm until we returned to the hotel and got a couple of drinks at the hotel's rooftop bar before calling it a day.

Stockholm 2026 - Part 2

Exploring Stockholm

Friday - August 21st 2026

Our first full day in Stockholm started with breakfast at the fantastic buffet. Then it was time to head out into the city. Since we had a timed ticket for the ABBA Museum, we decided to take a walk through the city towards the harbour and from there we strolled along the waterfront to the museum. We still had plenty of time until our entry and so it was quite a relaxing walk to enjoy this beautiful city. Near the museum we came across a lovely coffee house and so we all got a drink and enjoyed the nice weather sitting outside.

Now it was finally for our time slot and so we headed to the museum. There we still had to wait a couple minutes while it started to rain, but soon we were inside the museum. Although we didn't grow up with ABBA, we still like their music. The ABBA Museum wasn't very big, however my parents enjoyed our time there a lot. After we bought some souvenirs at the shop, we stopped at a nearby restaurant for a quick lunch.

Luckily the rain stopped and so we decided to visit Skansen, the oldest open air museum in Sweden right next to Gröna Lund and the ABBA Museum. The highlights of Skansen are the replica of an average 19th century Swedish village as well as the funicular and the zoo. Unfortunately the rain returned, that's why we ordered a Bolt taxi and drove back to the Radisson Blu, where we got a couple of drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe opposite our hotel.

After we got ready for the evening, we took another Bolt taxi across town to get dinner at Meatballs for the People. My parents wanted to try traditional Swedish meatballs and so Claudia found this cool restaurant that also had plant-based meatballs on the menu. The restaurant was pretty popular and so we had to wait a little until we got a table, but it was worth the wait, because the food was really good. Afterwards we walked via Gamla Stan back to the hotel to get a couple of drinks at the roof top bar.
