Disneyland Paris 2022 - Part 4

Paris

Wednesday - October 19th 2022

Today we took a break from Disney and headed to the city of Paris. After we got our coffee at Pret-A-Manger we catched the RER train from Marne La Vallee to Chatelet Les Halles. Once we arrived in Paris we walked to Cloud Cakes, a small vegan coffee house, to get a proper breakfast. After our delicious breakfast with croissants, a cake and an avocado toast we spent some time at the Les Halles shopping center before continuing our walk towards the Seine.

After a wonderful walk along the Seine in the morning sun, we made it to the Louvre Museum. We had purchased our tickets already online and still had to kill some time until our slot for entering the museum was open. The Louvre is such an impressive museum with lots to see, but of course we first headed straight to Mona Lisa, probably the world's most famous painting. The crowd was already huge, but we managed to get a good look at Leonardo da Vinci's painting. The next couple of hours we explored other areas of the museum too, but it was way too big to see everything. Later we stopped at a falafel bar for a late lunch and then we got some desserts at a nearby bakery before heading back to the RER station. On the way we came across a nice street cafe and since the sun was shining and it was really warm outside we just had to get a drink and enjoy the lovely weather. Back at Disney we spent the rest of the evening browsing through the shops and having drinks at the Sports Bar.

Disneyland Paris 2018 - Part 4

Daytrip To Paris

Wednesday - June 6th 2018

Today the weather was slightly better and so we got up early and took the RER train into the city of Paris. We got off the train at Les Halles for breakfast at Cloud Cakes, a vegan coffee house. After wonderful breakfast with pancakes, croissants, juices and coffee we checked out the shops at the nearby shopping centre, because Claudia was on the hunt for some special cosmetic products.

Later we decided to take the train to La Defense to see the Grand Arche. We really liked La Defense, because it was so different and modern in contrast to the traditional tourist areas. There we just walked around until we found another shopping centre. Needles to say that Claudia didn't leave without full bags. Since there wasn't much else to do there, we returned to Les Halles for a late lunch at Le Pain Quotidien.

In the afternoon we visited Ile De La Cité and Notre Dame, where we got some glasses of wine at a nice street cafe next to the beautiful cathedral. Before returning to Disneyland we wanted to have dinner at Hank Vegan Pizza, but on the way a thunder storm hit Paris and we had to stop at a bar to escape the heavy rain. A couple of beers later the rain finally stopped and we made it to Hank. The pizzas were so delicious that we brought two pizzas for the next day with us. Back at Disneyland we spent the rest of the evening at Disney Village.
