Arriving On Langkawi
Friday - August 11th 2023
Today we left Singapore and traveled to Langkawi in Malaysia. We got up early,
checked out and headed to the monorail station. Back in Sinagpore we took the
subway to Changi Airport, where we dropped off our luggage and after we passed
security we got delicious croissants from Bacha Coffee and enjoyed iced coffee
while waiting for our Air Asia flight to depart. Two hours later around noon
we landed at Langkawi International Airport. First we had to go through
immigration and then we got a taxi to our hotel.

On Langkawi we stayed at the
Pelangi Beach Resort in
Pantai Cenang. When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet and so we decided to
get a welcome drink at the Beach Bar. Although we had an inflight meal, we
were a little bit hungry too and so we ordered flatbread with humous.
Afterwards we checked out the hotel area until our room was finally ready. We
got a spacious and beautiful room on the second floor in one of the lodges
near the main pool and the main building.

After we unpacked, we got into our swimsuits and headed to the beach. First we
ordered a bucket full of beer cans and then we just relaxed and enjoyed the
warm weather. Of course we went swimming too, not only in the pool but also in
the sea. To my surprise the sea was rather warm, but I still prefered the
pool. In the evening we got ready to head out into the village to find a
hawker market for dinner. We walked along the beach into the town center.
There we strolled through the many international chocolate stores until we
found the hawker market. At first I was little bit skeptical due to hygiene
concerns, but Claudia persuaded me to try at least. I'm really happy I did,
becuase the fried rice and the noodles were so good. Afterwards we got some
exotic fruits and checked out more shops. On the way back to the hotel we
stopped at 7/11 for beer and snacks to enjoy in our room.
