Our Last Day

Wednesday - June 8th 2016

Today was our last day in Las Vegas, and since we hadn't seen the Fremont Street Experience yet, we decided to go there. Of course it would have been more impressive after dark, but we didn't have the time for that thanks to packing our luggage. After a coffee at Starbucks we took the bus to downtown Las Vegas. Downtown wasn't as glamorous as the Strip, but it definitely had its own charme. I really liked it there, although the audience was a little strange sometimes. At first we just walked around the old casinos, like the Golden Nugget or Binion's, and then we had a couple drinks at the Golden Nugget outdoor bar while watching people and having a nice conversation with the bartender.

Downtown Las Vegas

At noon we walked to a small vegan restaurant called Simply Pure. The bistro was located at the nearby Downtown Container Park, which would had been a nice place to hang out and get some drinks, but unfortunately it was way too hot for that. I got a chicken wrap, Claudia ordered the enchiladas and for dessert we shared a cheesecake. Afterwards we took the bus back to the Strip and started another round of casino hopping at the Wynn. On our tour along the Las Vegas Boulevard we passed the Venetian, the Mirage and at the Flamingo we had to stop for Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Later in the afternoon we returned to our hotel, jumped into the pool and in the evening we had dinner at Chipotle again. Then we packed our stuff and got ready for departure in the early morning.
