Empire State Building
Friday - May 9th 2025
Our last full day in New York City started with breakfast at Cafe Aroma. Then
we ordered an Uber, since it was raining heavily. For today we planned to see
the
Empire State Building although we
didn't expect to see a lot from the observation deck. When we arrived they
asked us several times, if we really wanted to visit due to the bad weather,
but exploring the museum was so much more pleasant with no other visitors.
Claudia and I had already been to the Empire State Building in 2008 and back
then there was no museum, or maybe we just skipped it and headed straight to
the observation deck. This time we spent quite some time in the very
interesting and entertaining museum, where we learnt a lot about the history
of the building. Unfortunately the view from the top was indeed bad, but we
knew it beforehand. We still had a great time exploring New York City's most
iconic landmark.

Since it was already noon and everybody getting hungry, we decided to get
something for lunch. Claudia wanted to try
Plnt Burger and luckily the
restaurant was not that far from the Empire State Building. Plnt Burger was a
plant based burger restaurant and offered not only burgers but also hot dogs
and milk shakes. We all ordered burgers and all of them were delicious.
Afterwards we took the subway to Central Park and just strolled towards
Columbus Circle. Unfortunately it strated to rain again and so we took the
inlaws back to the hotel, where they relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.
Claudia and I headed out again and checked out some shops and got some beers
at the District Tap House again. For dinner we stopped at 2 Bros Pizza again
before getting drinks at the hotel bar.
