Yankee Stadium
Thursday - May 8th 2025
Claudia and her dad wanted to take a morning run in Central Park and so we had
to get up early to take the subway to Columbus Circle. While the two did their
run around the reservoir in the middle of the park I just strolled around
Central Park and took some pictures. Back at the hotel everyone got ready for
the day and then we headed out to Cafe Aroma for breakfast. Afterwards we took
the metro to the Bronx to visit the
Yankee Stadium. For today we had booked a guided tour, but we arrived a little bit early
and so we checked out the merchandise store before the tour started. Along the
very informative tour we got to see the VIP areas, the museum, fan areas with
bars and shops. Additionally we learnt a lot about the history of the baseball
club and its stadium in the Bronx. Once the tour ended we stopped at the
Hard Rock Cafe
and got a drink.

After the refreshing beer it was already noon and so we decided to get
something to eat. Near the stadium there was a shopping mall with a food court
and so we gave it a try. We found a plant based restaurant that served
southern cuisine. The food was pretty good and once we finished our lunch we
were on our way back to the hotel. Claudia's parents wanted to relax in the
afternoon and so Claudia and I headed out into the city alone. First we got an
iced coffee at Starbucks and then we checked out the Disney Store on Times
Square. We are big fans of the TV seriens Only Murders in the Building and so
we wanted to see the building that doubles for the Arconia, where most of the
series takes place. So we took the subway to the Upper West Side and there was
the huge apartment building in front of us. We took a couple of pictures
before returning to Midtown, where we stopped at the Dustrict Tap House again
and got some drinks. For dinner we picked up Claudia's parents and had pizza
slices at 2 Bros Pizza again. Later we stopped at the hotel bar for drinks
before calling it a day and watching Friends.
