Visiting Columbus
On our second weekend with our friends from home, we visited Columbus, the capital city of Ohio. It's just two hours south of Bowling Green.

We arrived in
Columbus in the late afternoon. Like in Cleveland we stayed in a
Days Inn Hotel, because we were very happy with that hotel chain. Our rooms were fine and after checking in, we drove to
Olive Garden for dinner.

On Saturday after breakfast we drove into the city, parked our car and visited the
German Village, which was founded and built by German immigrants at the beginning of the 19th century.

After a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks we just walked around and did some sightseeing in the beautiful village. Around noon we had lunch at a small German restaurant called
Juergen's Bakery. It was really great there. The bakery is owned by a German woman and she was very happy to talk in German again.

In the afternoon we drove to
Easton Town Center to do some shopping. We spent the whole afternoon there, because there were too many shops the girls couldn't resist. Later we returned to the city and had dinner at
Gordon Biersch, a brewery restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening in an Irish Pub in the Arena District before we drove back to our hotel.
