Cleveland 2007 - Part 3

Amish Country

Sunday - September 16th 2007

After breakfast we packed our stuff and drove to Amish Country. Ohio is known to have a large Amish community and so we were on our way to Berlin, a small village south of Cleveland.

The country side is very beautiful and it reminded me a bit on home, like the many German names of villages, buildings or restaurants did. Berlin is a small and beautiful village, but unfortuantely nearly every shop was closed, we didn't stay there very long.

Since it was Sunday most restaurants were closed as well, it wasn't that easy to find a restuarnt for lunch. Finally we found one operated by an Amish community which was really fine, especially the pastries were delicious. After a few more stops in other villages, we arrived in Bowling Green in the late afternoon and had dinner at our local Mexican restaurant.
