Japan 2025 - Part 10

Tokyo Tower

Monday - October 13th 2025

We started our day at our favourite Starbucks that is hidden inside an office building next to our hotel and so there was always a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. For today we planned to see Tokyo Tower and after breakfast we were on our way. When we arrived there were hardly any other visitors and so we enjoyed the amazing views over Tokyo without any crowds. Next stop was Azabudai Hills, a very nice and posh neighbourhood with skyscrapers, shopping malls and parks. There we just strolled through the shops, got egg sandwiches and checked out the lovely park.

Later we took the metro to Akihabara Electric Town, because I wanted to buy some retro games for my Game Boy. Of course Akihabara was quite busy, but I managed to find the retro games store I had already been during our last visit. The shop had a huge selection of all kinds of retro games, but I just got a couple of Nintendo Game Boy modules. Since it was already early afternoon, we decided to find something to eat. So we took the metro to Asakusa, where we had a late lunch at Ramen Yoroiya. Claudia got ramen soup and I ordered vegetarian gyoza and we weren't disappointed by our choices. The food was really delicious.

Lunch

After our delicious lunch we were on our way to the Asahi Brewery Headquarter on the other side of the river. There we wanted to visit the Sky Room bar at the top of the Asahi building from where guests have a wonderful view over Tokyo. When we arrived, we had to wait a little bit, but soon we got a table and enjoyed our beers. Back in Shinjuku we just strolled around and checked out the huge Godzilla sculpture at the Gracery Hotel. Then we had dinner at 800 Degrees Pizzeria again and before getting some drinks at our favourite outdoor bar we spent quite some time at Don Quijote to find a suitcase to buy. After a couple of beers we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed a quiet evening.
