Walt Disney World - Part 8

EPCOT

Tuesday - January 22nd 2008

Today we spent the day at EPCOT. After we arrived we had breakfast at The Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavillion. I ordered the breakfast platter with potatoes and scrambled eggs, while my girlfriend had a cinnamon bun.

After breakfast we did Soarin' Over California and Test Track twice. Before World Showcase opened, we did some shopping and got some pins. Actually we got addicted to Disney pins and bought a lot of them during our stay.

Finally World Showcase opened. Our journey around the world started in Mexico, where we did the Gran Fiesta Tour and then we bought two Strawberry Daiquiries. On our way to Germany we made quick stops at the shops of the Norway and China Pavilions.

In Germany we enjoyed two glasses of a wonderful cold German beer. We have to admit that we missed the strong German and Austrian beers in the United States and so we had to get one here. Our drinking journey around World Showcase continued in Italy, because there we joined a wine tasting.

Since it was already noon, we decided to have lunch at the Tangierine Cafe again, and like last time we ordered the Veggie Platter. In France we took a break and watched Impressions De France. Afterwards we moved on to the United Kingdom.

In the Rose & Crown Pub we met a nice guy from Olrlando. He told us that he was a comedian and that he came nearly every week to EPCOT to enjoy a British beer in the pub.

Later we watched a marching band from the Colonial times in front of the American Pavillion. Unfortunately the pavillion with its attraction was closed due to refurbishments and so we went to the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion.

Today we had booked a table for an early dinner at Tutto Italia, a beautifully themed Italian restaurant, in the Italy Pavillion. After waiter brought us to our table at the window, we ordered our drink and entrees. I had the Pasta Marinara with Mozarella balls and Claudia ordered Canneloni. The food was very good, but a bit pricy.

After dinner we spent the rest of the day in the Future World area of the park. There we did Test Track and Spaceship Earth again, before we left EPCOT.
