Las Vegas 2008 - Part 1

Flying To Las Vegas

After the school year was over, we left Bowling Green behind and wanted to see more of the United States. Our apartment lease expired at the end of December and so we stayed at our friends' home for a couple of nights and on January 2nd we flew from Toledo via Chicago to Las Vegas.

Due to the bad weather in Ohio many flights were delayed, like ours. Finally we arrived in Las Vegas in the middle of the night and we just wanted to go to our hotel, because we spent the whole day at various airports.

At that time the Consumer Electronic Show was held in Las Vegas and so it wasn't possible to get a room for a reasonable price in one of the big hotels on the Las Vegas Blvd., that's why we stayed a little bit off the Strip. Nevertheless we found a nice hotel, called Gold Coast Hotel and Casino. The hotel offered a pool, many different restaurants and of course a casino. Our room was very nice and it seemed it was newly refurbished.

Thursday - January 3rd 2008

Our first day in the entertainment capital of the world started with a coffee and a muffin at Starbucks. Then we started our hotel and casino sightseeing tour including The Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, The Venetian, The Mirage and many more. Of course we gambled a bit, but unfortunately we didn't win millions of dollars, in fact we didn't win anything.

In the evening we had lunch at a wonderful Indian restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening on the Strip and watched the Bellagio Fountains, had some drinks at several bars, like ESPN Zone, and checked out the Coca-Cola Store.
