Disney Springs
Thursday - April 7th 2022
After breakfast we checked out, ordered our Uber taxi and left Universal
Orlando for Walt Disney World. Our Uber driver Caeser picked us up right on
time and soon we arrived at our hotel. At Walt Disney World we stayed at
Disney's Pop Century Resort, which we knew already from our first visit to
Walt Disney World in 2008. Since we liked the hotel back then a lot, we chose
it again. Another selling point for us was the newly opened Skyliner, a
gondola system that connects the hotel with two themeparks. Unfortunately our
room wasn'r ready yet and so we left our luggage behind and took the bus to
Disney Springs.

Disney Springs is a shopping and entertainment district with many bars,
restaurants and shops. First we just strolled around and browsed through the
shops. Since our last visit in 2015 a lot has changed, but we really liked
how Disney Springs turned out. Around noon we stopped at Earl of Sandwich,
where we tried the new vegan meatball sub, which was quite good.

After lunch it was time for drinks and of course there's no better place
than Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, based on Indiana Jones' pilot from the The
Raiders of the Lost Ark movie. The bar looked amazing and there were many
nods to the Indiana Jones movies throughout the bar. Of course Claudia had
to get a cocktail while I ordered an ice cold beer. Suddenly a
thunderstorm hit Disney Springs and it started to rain heavily. That meant
we had to stay for another round, because it was really pouring down
outside. This time we also got a pretzel as well to soak up all the
alcohol. When the rain stopped we left Disney Springs and took the bus
back to the hotel, where our room was finally ready. At the hotel we
picked up our luggage and our groceries delivered by Amazon and headed to
our room.

After we dropped off our luggage and refreshed a bit, we took the Disney
Skyliner to Disney's Hollywood Studios. There we walked straight to Star Wars
Galaxy's Edge and to our surprise Millenium Force: Smuggler's Run was only a
30 minutes wait. Of course we got in line and soon we flew Han Solo's
Millenium Falcon through the galaxy. It was such a fun ride and I was really
happy to experience it on our first visit. Afterwards we ordered the Felucian
Garden Spread with vegan meatballs at Docking Bay 7, which was so delicious.
Then we just strolled aroung Batuu to soak up the atmosphere of that fantastic
land before leaving Disney's Hollywood Studios.

On the way out we stopped at several shops just to take a look what kind of merchandise is on sale. It was pretty disappointing compared to Disneyland Paris. Hopefully the other parks offer nicer stuff. Back at the hotel we checked out the hotel shop and the food court before heading back to our room. There we unpacked our luggage and watched TV until it was time for bed.
