Florida 2022 - Part 3

Universal's Islands of Adventure

Monday - April 4th 2022

Our second day at Universal Orlando started with breakfast at the hotel's food court, where Claudia got oatmeal and I ordered breakfast potatoes. Today we decided to walk to the parks instead of taking the bus. The walk was really nice along the waterway and about 20 minutes later we were at the front gate of Universal's Islands of Adventure. We still had to wait a couple of minutes until the park opened, but once we were inside we headed straight to Velocicoaster, Universal's newest lauch coaster. Despite me high expectations the rollercoaster did not disappoint, however it's not as good as it's European counterpart Taron at Phantasialand.

After Velocicoaster we walked over to Hogsmeade, part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Of course we had to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It's still a fantastic ride, but it didn't age that well, at least compared to the one at Universal Studios Japan. The queue line for the other major attraction was already at four hours and so we decided to skip Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Instead we wanted to get coffee at Starbucks. On the way to Starbucks we stopped at Seuss Landing to ride The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride, since there was no line at all. After our coffee at Starbucks we browsed through the shops in Port of Entry to check out the merchandise.

Now it was time for our next big rollercoaster at Marvel Super Hero Island. The Hulk Coaster was really good and quite smooth. Next was Storm Force Accelatron, similar to Disney's Tea Cups ride. We continued our tour through Marvel Super Hero Island and joined Spider-Man in fighting Doc Octopus. The Amazing Spider-Man Adventure - The Ride is still one of my most favourite Universal attractions. Since it was already noon we decided to get a plant based kebap for lunch, which was really delicious although a bit spicey. Unfortunately the crowds got really big and so we left the park to get a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe.

After our much needed break at the Hard Rock Cafe we returned to Universal's Islands of Adventure. We still had a couple of attractions to do and the first one we got in line was Dr. Dooms Fear Fall. Then we headed over to Jurassic Park to give River Adventure a try. Afterwards we strolled through the shops and then we took Hogwarts Express to Universal Studios. There we didn't do anything except for getting ice cream and so we called it a day and walked back to our hotel. There we had dinner at the foodcourt and later we had a beer at the bar.
