Unfortunately our vacation in the US ended today and we had to fly back home.
Since our flight didn't depart before the late afternoon, we slept in and then
after we checked out, we had breakfast at the
Detroit Institute of Bagels. Afterwards we drove to the rental car center at the airport and returned
our car. Once we passed security, we used our last Dollars to get some beers
at Gordon Biersch. Before we boarded the plane we had a late lunch at P.F.
Chang's and then it was finally time to depart.

After an uneventful flight we landed in Amsterdam and at that time we didn't
know yet, how terrible this day would get. Once we disembarked a KLM emplyee
told us, that our flight to Munich was canceled due to the heavy fog. So they
rebooked us on a flight to Nuremberg, which is about 200km away from Munich
and needless to say we didn't want to fly there. Thanks to the interventions
of my wife, we got a flight to Munich via Paris. Instead of arriving in Munich
in the morning, we got there in the afternoon, but at least we got there. Our
luggage on the other hand didn't make it and we had to wait until Sunday to
receive it. Except for the journey back home we had a marvelous vacation.
