For today our friends had planned to take us to an island in Lake Eerie called
Put-In-Bay. So after breakfast we hit the road and about an hour later we arrived at
the ferry dock. Unfortunately we just missed the ferry by a few minutes, but
we didn't have to wait too long, because half an hour later the next one
departed. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the island and once we arrived,
we rented a golf cart to get around on Put-In-Bay.

Our first stop on the island was Perry's Victory and International Peace
Monument and then we just drove around the small village and checked out the
shops. Since it was already around noon, we decided to eat our sandwiches we
brought along in a nearby park. Afterwards we visited Put-In-Bay Winery, where
we sampled some white wines and then we headed to the Massie Cliffside
Preserve. Before we drove back to the village, we checked out the second
winery on the island. On the way back to Put-In-Bay we came across an outdoor
bar that sold Stiegl Beer from our hometown in Austria. Unfortunately it
wasn't open, but it was cool to see an Austrian biergarten in Ohio. Before we
had to return our golf cart, we got some drinks at a pub and soon we were on
our way back to our friend's house. For dinner we stopped at a Taco Bell.
Although it is definitely not the best food, but once during each USA trip we
have to eat there.
