United States 2013 - Part 9

New Buffalo And Four Winds Casino Resort

Monday - September 9th 2013

So today we had to leave our good friends in Bowling Green and it wasn't easy to say goodbye, but I'm pretty sure we will return. However after breakfast we loaded our Beetle and said farewell.

Since I'm a big fan of the Hard Rock Cafes, I found out that there is one located in a casino resort in Michigan. It was conviniently located on our way to Chicago, so I convinced Claudia to stay there for one night. I really enjoyed Las Vegas and its casinos and because I like to gamble a bit, it was a nice oppprtunity to do that. We arrived at the Four Winds Casino Resort in the early afternoon and checked in. We got a really nice room with a big bathroom, a TV, but unfortunately no mini bar.

After we refreshed a bit, we drove to the beach of New Bufallo and walked around the sand dunes. Although it was already off season, there were some people on the beach of Lake Michigan. The dunes were very beautiful, but after some time the sand was getting really hot.

Later we drove to La Porte to buy some things at Kroger and then we had vegetarian burritos for an early dinner at Taco Bell. We had never been to that fast food chain and honestly we didn't like it. Then we returned to the hotel and spent the rest of the evening in the casino and in the Hard Rock Cafe. We didn't gamble a lot of money, just a few dollars. Most of the time we talked with the firendly bartender at the casino bar.

A few drinks later and a few dollars less in the pockets, we returned to our room.
