London 2025/26 - Part 4

New Year's Eve

Wednesday - December 31st 2025

New Year's Eve started like yesterday with breakfast at Lockdown Bakehouse. We got coffee and some pastries and then we walked to Clapham Junction since the train service from Wandsworth Town was interrupted during our visit due to construction. From there we took the train to Waterloo Station. Like every year on New Year's Eve Claudia and I walk from Waterloo Station via Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Street to the White Horse pub. Along the way we stopped for a coffee break at Starbucks and at Fortnum & Mason to buy their famous jam. Before getting a couple of beers at the White Horse pub, we enjoyed a slice of pizza at Whole Foods Market.

In the early afternoon we had a reservation at Mildreds, a vergetarian reastaurant in Soho, where we had already been to during our last visits as well. First we shared bbq corn ribs as a starter and then we both got a burger with fries. After our delicious meal we took the subway to Vauxhall, from there the train back to Clapham Junction and then we had to walk to Wandsworth Town. Back at the hotel we realxed a bit until we headed out again. First we wanted to get a drink at the Alma pub, but it was already very cowded. So we just took a walk around Wandsworth and decided to check out Sambrook's Brewery again. To our surprise Sambrook's wasn't crowded at all and so we stayed for a couple of drinks. Later we got veggie burgers at McDonald's and then we spent the rest of the evening watching TV in our room.
