Mur Bike Trail
Monday - June 16th 2025
After we got up, we had breakfast and soon we hit the road, because for today
the weather forecast was rather bad with lots of rain. Today's tour took us
from Murau to Leoben and it also was our longest with nearly 110 kilometers.
Once we left Murau behind we continued our bike journey along the Mur River to
Teufenbach, where be bought some snacks and cheese rolls for a short break
later on. Until now we were really lucky with the weather, since there was no
rain and the sun came out accsionally.

Around noon we arrived in Judenburg, where we searched for a supermarket to
find something to eat. We bought a couple of rolls and a cheese spread and
once we found a lovely spot for our break it was finally time for lunch.
Afterwards we continued our bike tour towards Leoben. Unfortunately this part
of the bike trail was not as pleasant and beautiful as in the morning. Most of
the time we had headwinds and the scenery was rather boring since we passed
many induastrial areas.

In the late afternoon we made it to Leoben. Once we arrived at the hotel, we
checked in and enjoyed a complimentary drink included in our room rate. In
Leoben we stayed at
Hotel Kongress and we
were really happy with our choice, because the staff with really nice and the
rooms were very modern as well. After we refreshed we headed out for dinner
and ended up at
Ristorante San Marco. Claudia ordered pasta while I had a pizza and for a starter we shared small
pizza breads. The food was delicious and afterwards we got ice creams and
strolled around the small town of Leoben. Back at the hotel we watched TV and
soon called it a day.
