Disneyland Paris 2013 - Part 3

Our Second Day In The Parks

Tuesday - March 26th 2013

Our second day in the parks started early, because we wanted to use the Extra Magic Hours. During 8:00am and 10:00am Fantasyland and Discoveryland are only open to Disney Hotel guests and to Annual Pass holders. Shortly after 8:00am we were inside Disneyland Park.

First we headed to Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, but it wasn't open yet and so we decided to ride Space Mountain: Mission 2 instead. I was surprised that the onboard music was working fine and that the track wasn't as bumpy as remembered. Now Buzz Lightyear was also open and we got in line. Although Buzz doesn't fit the Discovery theme of the land, we like the attraction a lot and always enjoy riding it.

Next was Fantasyland, but like in Discoveryland, not all attractions were open, only Peter Pan's Flight, Le Carousell de Lancelot, Mad Hatter's Tea Cups and Dumbo. We did the Tea Cups and then walked out to Starbucks for breakfast, because Peter Pan had technical difficulties, like every day.

A coffee and a fruit salad later we entered Walt Disney Studios Park, which had just opened, and headed straight towards Crush's Coaster. Today it was wotking fine, no technical problems, but the waiting time was already 45 minutes. However we got in line, because we wanted to ride Crush at least once and we knew that the lines will not be shorter during the day. The ride was great like always. Afterwads we decided to take a break and had fries and a beer at the En Coulisse Restaurant, like yesterday.

On our way to Rock'n'Roller Coaster we bumped into Push the Talking Trash Can chatting with children. They really liked him and adults joined in as well.

Before we left the park, we wanted to do Tower of Terror, but the lines were too long and so we gave The Art of Disney Animation a try. We already did that during our first visit in 2006, but couldn't really remember what it was all about. It turned out to be a nice, but a bit dated attraction. Roy E. Disney was talking about traditional animation and with the example of Mushu from the movie Mulan, people learned how Disney is creating an animated film.

Back in Disneyland Park, it was already early afternoon, we had lunch at the Colonel Hati's Pizza Outpost, and today they still had pasta. I ordered a pizza and Claudia got the Pasta Neapolitana and a salad. While we were eating, an African band was entertaining the guests.

After exploring Adventure Isle, we wanted to ride Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril. We were already on the track and suddenly we stopped. A few moments later we were told that the ride broke down and a Castmember will escort us back into the park. It was the first time that we got evacuated from an attraction. However we got a Fastpass and did Phantom Manor instead. When we got out of the Manor, Indy was running again, I guess it was only a minor problem, and so we got in line, which we could skip thanks to our Evacuation-Fastpass.

To make use of the Happy Hour of King Ludwig's Castle, we left the park early, but before we checked out the stores on Main Street and had a coffee at Gibson Girl's Ice Cream Parlor. After enjoying a couple of beers and a Bretzel, we headed back to the Disneyland Park. In the evening the big crowds were gone and so we rode Big Thunder Mountain twice in a row. We also did Indiana Jones and Phantom Manor again.

Dinner was at Earl of Sandwich again and before taking the train back to Val D'Europe, we stopped at the Sports Bar for a cocktail.
