Bad Hofgastein
Friday - March 14th 2025
Our last ski trip of the season took us to Bad Hofgastein, which is about an
hour away from Salzburg. Early morning after a quick breakfast we hit the road
and drove directly to the ropeway station. Once we had our tickets we were on
our way to the top. The weather wasn't the beast, but at least we got some
fresh snow. It was our first time in
Bad Hofgastein and so we
started our skiing day with exploring the ski resort. We decided to ski to Bad
Gastein on the other side of the valley. There we stopped for a coffee before
heading back to Bad Hofgastein. Along the way we got drinks and a pretzel at
an outdoor bar to celebrate Claudia's birthday.

For lunch we stopped at the
Weitmoser Schlossalm
ski restaurant, where we shared fries and Kaiserschmarrn, a sweet pancake,
which was really nice. In the afternoon the weather got better and even the
sun came out, but since it was pretty warm and the slopes weren't in the
best shape anymore, we decided to end the skiing day. Back in the valley we
got a coffee at the ropeway station before driving to the hotel. We stayed
at The Storks Hotel, which was okay, but I'm not sure I would stay there again. After we
checked in and refeshed a little bit, we took a walk through Bad Hofgastein
and stopped at a lovely bar for drinks. Later we had dinner at
Kraut & Rüben, a vegetarian restaurant. Back at the hotel we just relaxed in front of
the TV.
