Windsor Castle
Sunday - January 1st 2023
On our last full day in London we wanted to do something special and decided
to visit
Windsor Castle. So after breakfast we too the train from Wandsworth Town to Windsor and
Eton Riverside. The train journey took about an hour once we arrived in the
picturesque town of Windsor, we headed straight to the castle before it got
too crowded. We purchased our tickets online, which meant we were able to skip
the queue and soon we were inside the beautiful castle courtyard. First we did
the walking tour through the impressive castle and its beautiful chambers.
Halfway through the tour we stopped at the castle cafe for cakes and
coffee.

Once we had finished our tour we left the castle to see the Long Walk, but
instaed of taking a long walk, we got a New Year's day drink at The
Carpenter's Arms pub. For lunch we went to Wagamama, which was okay, but
nothing special. Then we strolled around the shopping malls and checked out
the small towns of Windsor and Eton. Before taking the train back to London we
got a coffee at Costa. Back in Wandsworth we rested a little bit at the hotel
and then we spent the evening at The Alma. Unfortunately the kitchen was
already closed and so after a couple of drinks we had dinner at McDonalds.

Returning Home
Monday - January 2nd 2023
After breakfast we took the train to Waterloo Station and from there the metro
to Paddington Station. There we caught the Heathrow Express to the airport.
Once we passed through security we got a sandwich for lunch and had a last
drink before flying home. Unfortunately the plane departed an hour later, but
we made it back to Munich. Before driving home we got something to eat at the
airport.
