New Year's Eve
Saturday - December 31st 2022
The last day of the year was here and it started like the days before with
croissants for breakfast. Afterwards we took the train to Waterloo Station and
from there we walked to Trafalgar Square and along The Mall to Buckingham
Palace. Unfortunately it started to rain and so we stopped at the next
Starbucks for a late breakfast. On the way to Whole Foods Market near
Piccadilly Circus we got vegan donuts at Crosstown Donuts before checking out
Fortnum & Mason, where we bought tea and marmelade. At Whole Foods Market
we wanted to get some snacks for the evening, but unfortunately the vegan
options were non existent and so we decided to check out M&S Food Hall in
the afternoon.

For lunch we had a reservation at Mildreds, but we still had some time left
and so we strolled around Carnaby Street. We wanted to get a drink at The
White Horse pub, but it reamained closed altough it should have opened
earlier. Instead we paid a visit to Shakespeare's Head pub. Finally The
White Horse opened and we were able to continue our London New Year's Eve
tradition to have a beer there. A drink later it was time for lunch at
Mildreds, a plant based restaurant. The food was delicious and I'm pretty sure we
will return in the future. In the afternoon we visited the Disney Store on
Oxford Street and purchased our picnic snacks for the evening before
returning to Wandsworth. There we spent the rest of the evening at The Alma
enjoying the last day of 2022 with beers and gin tonics.
