Barcelona 2021 - Part 6

Barcelona

Saturday - October 23rd 2021

For today we had tickets for Sagrada Familia, but not before the afternoon. So after breakfast, which was included in our hotel package, we decided to take a walk along La Rambla towards Barcelona's harbour. Along the way we stopped at Mercat de la Boqueria. There we strolled through all the little shops, but we didn't buy anything, becuase they mainly offered meat, fish and vegetables. Afterwards we continued our walk to the harbour, where we just took a look at the private yachts. Since it was already noon we headed to a nearby Burger King to try out their new vegan chicken burger, which was really delicious.

Lunch at Burger King

After lunch it was time for Sagrada Familia. We had booked our tickets beforehand to make sure we will be able to get in. When we arrived there was already a queue line, but it didn't take very long until we were inside that beautiful cathedral. Antonio Gaudi's church looked stunning from the outside, but inside was even more impressive. In my opinion the entrance fee was worth every Euro, because we spent quite some time there to check out all the amazing details. On the way back to the hotel we got ice cream and visited Barcelona's Arc de Triomf, which was by far not as impressive as the one in Paris. Back at the hotel we refreshed a bit and then we had some drinks and snacks at the hotel's rooftop bar.

Snacks

In the evening we decided to head back again to the harbour to have dinner at BarCeloneta Sangria Bar, because there they offered vegan paella and many different bagel burgers. Claudia tried the vegan paella and she really liked it, while I had a bagel, which was also very good. And of course we got sangria as well. A delicious dinner later we took a walk along the beach front. The rest of the evening we spent at a bar in the old town of Barcelona.
