China 2019 - Part 16

Hong Kong Disneyland And Returning Home

Tuesday - June 19th 2019

Today our vacation to China was coming to an end and we had to fly back to Austria. Since our flight was departing in the evening, we still a lot of time left and decided to visit Hong Kong Disneyland again. We bought our tickets already yesterday evening and once we checked out, we headed to the park. Since it was a bonus day for us, we hadn't planned anything and just wanted to enjoy a relaxing day at Disneyland. After coffee at Starbucks on Main Street USA, we started our last Disneyland day in Tomorrowland. First we did Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain followed by Iron Man Experience and then Ant-Man & The Wasp.

On the way to Fantasyland we got caramel popcorn and then we got in line for Mad Hatters Tea Cups. A visit to Disneyland wouldn't be complete without taking a spin in this classic Disney attraction. Next was The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and before leaving Fantasyland we did Dumbo the Flying Elephant. In Adventureland Claudia wanted to ride Jungle Cruise one last time and after visiting Tarzan's Treehouse on Adventure Island, we walked over to Grizzly Gulch for Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Train. The big finale of our last day was Mystic Manor.

We had such a great time at Hong Kong Disneyland, but now we really had to say goodbye to the beautiful Disney resort when it comes to location. With the mountains in the back and the lush vegetation Hong Kong Disneyland quickly became my second favourite Disney Resort right behind Disneyland Paris. The park might be small and there aren't as many attractions as in any other Disney resort, but the whole resort is of high quality. For example, in my opinion Mystic Manor is one of the best Disney attractions ever. Ant-Man & The Was was another highlight. Explorers Lodge was the best Disney hotel for a reasonable price we had stayed so far. So I was pretty sad to leave, but unfortunately we had to catch our flight back to Europe. After another veggie burger at Starliner Diner, we took the shuttle bus back to the hotel. There we picked up our luggage and headed to the airport. Check in and security weren't a big hassle and soon we enjoyed an iced coffee at Starbucks. Before departure we got an Impossible Burger for dinner and then it was finally time for boarding. Our Air China flight to Peking was a little bit delayed, but we still had plenty of time to catch our flight to Munich, where we arrived in the morning of the next day.
