We were still adjusting to the different time zone and so we were up pretty early. After a cup of coffee at the hotel we took the metro to Pudong New Area, because today we wanted to visit the viewing plattform of Shanghai Tower, the tallest building of the city. When we arrived, Shanghai Tower wasn't open yet and so weren't the stores and shops. That's why we stopped at Starbucks for another cup of coffee to kill the time.

Finally the observatory opened and since it was still early, crowds were low and we almost had the viewing plattform to our own. Shanghai Tower provided a fantastic view over the city and was definitely worth the time. After a refreshing ice tea at the observatory cafe, we decided to get an early lunch at the food court of the tower. Claudian and I wanted to try vegetarian Chinese dumplings, but apparently vegetarian doesn't mean the same in China as it does in Europe, because although it the vegetable dumplings were labled vegetarian, they had also meat in eat. What a disappointment, but luckily we found a French bakery and got some snacks there for later. On the way to the Disney Store we spent some time at a nearby department store. After we got a souvenir at the Disney Store we searched for The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel to get to the other side of the river.

The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel Vehicle |
The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel was a weird experience, but it was a convenient way to get to the other side. There we just walked along The Bund and admired the fantastic looking skyline of Pudong. The Bund is a promenade that runs along Huanpu River and is home to many historical buildings from the turn of the century. Afterwards we walked back to the hotel to take a break from the heat. Later we had dinner at the same vegetarian restaurant like yesterday and like yesterday the food was great, especially the vegan fried chicken. Then we took the metro to Tianjin Road, a shopping street with many stores, restaurants and bars, where we bought some souvenirs and checked out the department stores.
