Our First Full Day In The Parks
Monday - May 15th 2017
Our annual pass allows us to use the extra magic hours from 8:00am to 10:00am. During that time frame only Disney Hotel guests and annual pass holders can enter the Disneyland Park. So we got up early and walked from the hotel to the resort, which takes about 25 minutes, because the shuttle service doesn't start before 8:30am. During the extra magic hours only Discoveryland and Fantasyland are open to guests. Usually we always headed to Space Mountain first, but unfortunately it wasn't part of the open rides anymore. Instead guests could experience Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. So we did that one first. We knew the upgraded ride already from Walt Disney World, and while it is still great fun, I truly miss the original attraction. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast wasn't open yet due to technical problems, so we walked over to Fantasyland to do Peter Pan's Flight. However that ride was down too, also because of technical problems. Frustrated with all the closed attractions, we got coffee at Cafe Hyperion, strolled through the shops and then we joined the Mad Hatter on a spin with his tea cups.

Now the whole park was open and so we got a Fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain and until it was valid, we bought some beers at the Cowboy Cookout BBQ and enjoyed the lovely weather. After the wildest ride in the wilderness we did the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril roller coaster and then headed over to Discoveryland to experience the newly reopened Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain. I have to admit that I expected the worst, because Disney ruined the fantastic De La Terre A La Lune with Mission 2, but the Star Wars overlay wasn't that bad. In fact I enjoyed it and other guests did too, because the waiting times were always pretty long. Since it was getting really warm, we decided to get some drinks at the Cafe Fantasia inside the Disneyland Hotel, but before we visited Captain Nemo's Nautilus submarine.

After some refreshing drinks at Cafe Fantasia we headed over to the Walt Disney Studios Park. There our first attraction was The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror followed by Rock'n'Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Then we did something we hadn't done for years, because it's Disney's worst attraction in Paris. I really enjoy the movie Armageddon, but the attraction is terrible and we regreted our decission immediately. Since we were getting hungry we left the park and decided to try the new Vapiano restaurant in Disney Village. That's a casual Italian restaurant which know already from home. A wonderful dinner with vegan pizza and pasta later, we returned to the hotel.
