Dolphin Tour
Wednesday - May 10th 2023
Once we had breakfast, we walked into Funchal, because for today we had booked
a boat tour to see dolphins, wales and other sea creatures. We made sure to do
the excursion with an ecological company that also cares about the animals and
the environment and so we ended up with
Magic Dolphin Eco. We arrived a bit early but soon we were allowed to board the ship. Along
the tour the guides provided us with lots of information about the wildlife
found in the waters of Madeira. The boat tour lasted for about two hours and
we didn't see many sea animals, but towards the end we encountered white
dolphins. Watching those fish jumping through the water was amazing.

Back in Funchal we headed to Fala Fala for lunch, because it was already noon
and we got hungry. Fala Fala was a vegetarian restaurant that offered falafel
wraps, soups and salads. Claudia had a salad, while I got a wrap. Afterwards
it was time for
Blandy's Wine Lodge, which is famous for its Madeira Wine. We just strolled around the
historical building and then we stopped at the wine bar to try one of their
wines. The wine was okay, but we didn't like it that much.

In the afternoon we just walked around the city and checked out the beautiful
cathedral, got ice cream and just enjoyed the lovely town. Later we wanted to
see the statue of Portugal's most famous football player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since it was really hot, we decided to head back to the hotel and spend the
rest of the afternoon at the pool with ice cold beers until it was time for
dinner. Today we orderd a soup and a salad for starters, the vegetable lasagne
for our main course and for dessert we had a delicious cake.
