Lago Di Garda

Claudia and I wanted to visit Lake Garda in Italy for quite some time now and
this April we finally managed to get some days off of work to travel to Italy.
Wednesday early morning we started our tour in rainy Salzburg. Once we crossed
the border to Italy the weather got better and the sun came out. Along the way
we stopped at Autogrill to get coffee and croissants. Around noon we arrived
in Bardolino, a small village at Lake Garda. There we took a stroll along the
promenade until we found a lovely lakeside bar to get a welcome drink. Later
we checked out the lovely village before driving to our hotel in Sirmione.

In Sirmione we stayed at
Hotel Alevic. Upon arrival our room was ready and after we checked in, we dropped off our
luggage. Our room was nice and spacious and totally fine for a short trip.
Later we headed into the old town of Sirmione with its beautiful Scaligero
Castle. First we got a vegetarian piadina at
Piadineria Sirmione, which was okay, but nothing special. Then we stopped at a nearby bar and
coffee house, where we had tiramisu and an Aperol Spritz. Afterwards we just
walked around the beautiful village before returning to the hotel, because it
got really windy and cold with a little bit of rain.

In the evening, when the weather was better again, we went back to the old
town of Sirmione to get dinner,but first we wanted see more of Sirmione. The
whole village is a pedestrian zone and with all the narrow streets the
village has a very special flair and look. Soon we got hungry and stopped a
lovely restaurant called Bar Morderno, where we both ordered pasta, which
was really good. Then we got ice cream and took a walk to the end of the
peninsula before heading back to the hotel. There we got a drink at the bar
before enjoying a quite evening in our room.
