Summer Vacation 2022 - Part 1

Vienna

Saturday - August 6th 2022

This year's Summer Vacation was a bit unconventional for us, because we stayed in Austria. First we spent a couple of days in Vienna, followed by a visit to Familypark Neusiedlersee and finally Claudia and I relaxed in a beautiful hotel in Bad Aussee. Today we arrived in Vienna in the afternoon and checked in to our hotel. Like during most of our visits to Vienna we stayed at the Austria Trend Hotel Doppio. Later we headed into the city and got a couple of drinks at Cafe Heurer to start our vacation. Later had dinner at Tolystoy, a small vegan restaurant, before returning to the hotel.

Summer Vacation 2022 - Part 2

Vienna

Sunday - August 7th 2022

Today we had breakfast at the hotel and then we headed to Vienna's amusement park called Prater. There we rode some rollercoasters, like the world's biggest portable rollercoaster named Olympia Looping. The hightlight for us was Gsengte Sau, a really fun coaster. For lunch we stopped at the famous Schweizerhouse, where we had some beers and potatoe pancakes. In the afternoon we visited Austria's fist completely vegan Burger King restaurant and bought vegan donuts for the evening. The rest of the day we realxed at the hotel.

Monday - August 8th 2022

Today we had breakfast at Starbucks and spent most of the time shopping at Vienna's biggest shopping street. For lunch we stopped at Swing Kitchen and then we headed back to the hotel, because it was raining heavily. In the evening we took the subway back into the city to get lunch at Wiki Wiki Poke. Afterwards we got a couple of the drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe, which was celebrating its 8th anniversary.

Summer Vacation 2022 - Part 3

Familypark Neusiedlersee

Tuesday - August 9th 2022

Today we left Vienna towards Familypark Neusiedlersee, as small but cute themepark near Lake Neudiesdlersee about 70 kilometeres south of Vienna. After breakfast we checked out and drove about an hour until we arrived at the themepark. We had already purchased our tickets online, so we could enter right away. Familypark Neusiedlersee is Austria's biggest themepark which we hadn't visited yet until today. When we arrived, we headed straight to the biggest rollercoaster of the park called Rattenmühle. Surprinsingly the coaster was much more thrilling than expected. Afterwards we just walked around the park to see what it had to offer.

Next we wanted to give Familypark's newest addition a try, the water ride Biberburg. Unfortunately due to some technical issues it was open yet, so we did a fun slide and a cute kiddie attraction. Finally Biberburg opened and we got in line. Since it was already quite warm, we didn't mind getting wet at all. The water ride was a lot of fun and we even got a little bit wet. Götterblitz was the other big rollercoaster of the park and of course we had to do it as well. There was already a long queue due to running only one train, but we wanted to get the credit and so we joined the queue. Götterblitz was a family coaster, but still fun and a bit thrilling.

After riding Götterblitz Claudia and I got a refreshing beer while enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Since it was already noon we got hungry and decided to find something to eat, but not before we gave Seedrache, a swing ride, a try. Then we stopped at a nearby fastfood restaurant for French fries and for sweet potatoe fries. Now the park got very crowded and since we had done all attractions we wanted to do, we decided to get ice cream, buy some souvenirs and then leave the park. We enjoyed our time at that cute little themepark and after one last stroll through the park we finally left.

After we left Familypark we drove to our next hotel. For today we stayed at Pannonia Tower Hotel in Parndorf right next the Designer Outlet Center. First we checked in and then we relaxed a bit until it was time to spend some money in the outlet shops. At Starbucks we got an iced coffee and at Cafe Sacher we had some drinks like beer and wine before having dinner at Burger King. Back at the hotel we got another drink to enjoy in our room while watching The Simpsons.
