Universal Studios Japan
Monday - September 10th 2018
After visiting Universal Studios in Orlando and in Hollywood we decided to visit
Universal Studios Japan
as well once we planned our journey to Japan. Although we liked the
resorts in the US better, the themepark in Osaka was still a lot of fun
despite the bad weather. After we got up, we stopped at Starbucks for
coffee and at Lawson for some snacks. Once it was time for park opening,
we headed to the gates and soon we were on our way to The Wizarding
World of Harry Potter. There we got in line for Harry Potter and the
Forbidden Journey, which we already knew from the US parks. Experiencing
the ride in Japanese was a little bit weird, but still a lot of fun and
so we queued for a second time.

Next was Jaws - The Ride based on the famous Steven Spielberg movie. The attraction was okay, but nothing to get excited about. Unfortunately the rain didn't stop and so we wanted to do attractions inside buildings. First we watched a terrible Sailor Moon 3D movie and then we met Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2 3D. To my surprise that attraction was really entertaining with great special effects and the language barrier was no problem at all to follow the story. Afterwards it was time to one of my favourite Universal attractions - Spider-Man. Even in Japanese the ride was a lot of fun.

After
Spider-Man we checked out some shops until we got hungry, which
was no surprise since it was already noon. We stopped at the Jurassic
Park area for fries with guacamole and a beer. Unfortunately the lines
were pretty long at at both Jurassic Park rides and so we decided to
skip them. Instead we did Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, but that was a
rather disappointing ride. Since the weather got a little bit better, we
just walked around the park until the rain started again. So we did the
walk through Hogwarts Castle and then we decided to take a break at the
hotel.

After our break we
got a coffee at Starbucks and then we hit the park again for the
Halloween Nights. There were some designated areas for zombies to scary
visitors and so we just walked around to take a look. Some were really
scary, but mostly it was fun. To escape the scary szmobies we got drinks
at Finnegan's Pub and then we left the park, but not before one last
visit to Hogwarts. The rest of the evening we spent at the Hard Rock
Cafe. Despite the bad weather we had a great time at Universal Studios
Japan. We would definitely return, because it was a nice park with some
good attractions, nonetheless the Universal Studios park in Hollywood is
still my favourite.
