Dubai & Abu Dhabi 2024 - Part 3

IMG Worlds of Adventure

Monday - May 6th 2024

One of the reasons why we wanted to travel to Dubai were the many themeparks in the United Arab Emirates. The first one we were going to visit today was IMG Worlds of Adventure. After we got up we had breakfast and then we spent the morning at the pool, because the park didn't open before noon. Although the pool wasn't the biggest, we enjoyed our time there.

IMG Worlds of Adventure was in the middle of nowhere and once we arrived, we were the only guests waiting to get in. The park was completely indoor, which was really great considering the heat outside, and consisted of six themed zones. The first zone we headed to was Marvel, which was home to Spider-Man Doc Ock's Revenge, a fun spinning coaster. After Spider-Man we did Avengers Battle of Ultron, where we joined the Avengers in a fight against Ultron.

Our next zone was Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventure. There we got in line for Velociraptor, the park's biggest rollercoaster. Since there were hardly any visitors, we didn't have to wait at all to ride. The coaster was a lot of fun, but I'm pretty sure it was a clone of Europa Park's Blue Fire. Then we rode Predator, the second coaster in Lost Valley, and The Forbidden Territory, a dark ride that takes you back in time to see dinosaurs. Afterwards we took a short break and got donuts and iced coffee at The Coffee House on IMG Boulevard.

After our coffee break we headed over to Cartoon Network, where I got to ride Puwerpuff Girls - Mojo Robot Rampage, a spinning flat ride. Next we did a shooting dark ride called The Amazing Ride of Gumball, but that was pretty lame. By now we had done all the open major attractions and so we got a falafel wrap for a late lunch before riding Velociraptor one more time. Then we just strolled through the park and checked out the stores until we left and drove back to our hotel.

Back at the hotel we went to the nearby Dubai Marina Mall checking out the shops and getting iced coffee at Starbucks. After spending some time at the mall we took a walk along the marina towards Jumeirah Beach, where we wanted to get dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We got a nice table facing the promenade and soon we ordered our food. Claudia got a salad while I had quesadillas and of course we had to get cheesecakes for dessert. We shared the original cheesecake, which was delicious, at the restaurant and took the Oreo cheesecake to go. Before we called it a day we enjoyed an ice cold beer back at the hotel.
