Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Our first ski trip of the season started pretty early in the morning. First we
had to prepare some snacks and then we had to drive for nearly two hours to
Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Once we arrived at the Zwölferkogel Ropeway Station, we
purchased our ski tickets and then it was finally time to hit the slopes.
Unfortunately the weather forecast was really bad for today, but we wanted to
make the best out of it. In the morning it was snowing a lot and it was really
cold, but now and then the sun came out for a couple of minutes. Later in the
morning my brother and his girlfriend joined us for the skiing weekend. The
Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn
is one of Austria's largest ski areas and so we had plenty of slopes to
chose from. For today we decided to ski in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm area, which was still big enough to spend the whole day. For
lunch we stopped at the
Berger Alm Restaurant and got
dumpling soup and spinach with roasted potatoes and fried eggs. Since the
weather didn't get better at all, we finished our skiing day early in the afternoon.

On the way to the parking lot we came across a nice outdoor bar and got some
drinks to celebrate our vacation. Afterwards we drove to our hotel and checked
in. We stayed at the beautiful
Glemm by Avenida Hotel in
Hinterglemm just a couple of minutes by car from the cable car station. During
check in we got offered a glass of champagne, what a nice welcome. Then we
unpacked our luggage in our room and headed to the spa area to relax. The
hotel had a heated outdoor pool and it was so wonderful being in the warm water
while it was below zero degrees Celcius outside. For dinner we met with my
brother and his girlfriend again at
Thomsn Restaurant
in the village. We all ordered pizzas and drinks and had a lovely evening
reminiscing about our skiing day.
