Disneyland Paris
Monday - August 9th 2021
Since we had visited Disneyland Paris many times now, we decided to have a
rather relaxed trip, however we wanted to make use of the Extra Magic Hour in
the morning. Once we got up, we headed straight to Starbucks to get a coffee
for the 20 minutes walk to the parks. When we arrived, the gates were already
open for hotel guest. Our first ride for today was Buzz Lightyear's Laser
Blast followed by Hyperspace Mountain. Although I really like that coaster,
I'm not the biggest fan of the Star Wars overlay. Afterwards we left
Discoveryland behind and walked over to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder
Mountain Railroad, the wildest ride in the wilderness. Wait times were still
low and so we got in line. Next was Phantom Manor and we were a little bit
excited, because since our last visit Phantom Manor got refurbished and
enhanced with new effects. We were really happy with the changes and so we
decided to have lunch now.

Recently Disneyland Paris started to add vegan options to some of their
restaurants and one of them was Silver Spur Steakhouse in Frontierland. The
vegan offering sounded really good and so we gave it a tray. We were able to
get a walk on table and soon we were greeted by our lovely waiter. Claudia and
I both ordered the avocado salad for starter and the vegan skewer for our main
course. I'm glad we gave Silver Spur Steakhouse a try, because the vegan menu
was really delicious. Now it was time for Pirates of the Caribbean, another
favourite of ours. Since it was very crowded and very warm, we returned to our
room to relax a bit and hit the parks later again.

In the afternoon we headed back to the parks and since we hadn't been to Walt
Disney Studios Park yet, we went there first. Unfortunately the waiting times
were still very high and so we just walked around the park and checked out the
stores for merchandise. Just recently Disneyland Paris opened a new area at
back of the Studios Park dedicated to Pixar's Cars. Due to the upcoming
expansion the Studio Tram Tour had to be shortened and was transformed into
Cars Roadtrip. Additionally they opened a food truck with a lovely outdoor
seating area, where we got something to drink. Afterwards we left the park
again and got a couple of drinks at the Sportsbar in Disney Village. Before we
returned to Hotel Cheyenne we had dinner at Vapiano.
