Relaxing In Orlando
January 12th - 15th 2008
After New York we spent some time in the Sunshine State Florida, but before we visited Walt Disney World, we stayed in Orlando to recover a bit from the exhausting journeys to Las Vegas and New York City.
We stayed again in a
Days Inn, because the last times that hotel chain was always fine. Our hotel was located at the International Drive near the
Universal Studios Resort. It offered a swimming pool, but unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough to use it. Next to the hotel was a restaurant called J.C.'s and we ate there nearly everyday.

Since the Universal Studios Resort was just across the street, we spent some time at the
City Walk, but we didn't go to one of the two Universal themeparks, because we used the extra money for a longer stay at Walt Disney World.

The Universal City Walk offers many different restaurants, bars, coffee houses and shops. It can be compared with Disney's Downtown Disney in Orlando or Disneyland Paris' Disney Village. There is also a
Hard Rock Cafe and of course we had to go there. It is one of the most beautiful Hard Rock Cafes we have been until now, especially the Colosseum Bar is great. We had lunch there and ordered a veggie burger with fries to share.

We spent the rest of the day walking around City Walk and enjoyed the lovely weather. After a coffee at Starbucks we did some shopping and the returned to our hotel to get ready for the evening. Later, back at the City Walk, we had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant.
