Semmering

After breakfast we checked out and hit the road towards Bad Aussee, our final
destination of our Summer Vacation. On the way we stopped at Semmering, a very
small village on the Styrian and Lower Austrian boarder. There we just took a
walk around the village to see the huge, old, abandonned hotels from the turn
of the century. We also visited the 20 Schilling view of the sceneric
Semmering Railway. It is called 20 Schilling view, because the scenery was
depicted on Austria's old 20 Schilling bank note. Afterwards we bought some
snacks at the local supermarket for our lunch picnic.

Once we finished our picnic, we hit the road again and drove to our hotel in
Bad Aussee, where we arrived in the afternoon. While we were checked in, we
got a welcome drink and soon we were brought to our room.In Bad Aussee we
stayed at
Die Wasnerin, a beautiful child free hotel. Our room was very nice and comfortable and
even offered a mini bar, coffee and tea. Once we unpacked our stuff, we headed
to the pool area until it was time for dinner. Our hotel package not only
included a breakfast buffet, but five course dinner as well. Today we got a
sweet potatoe pancake for starter, followed by a creamy soup and pasta.
Claudia got a stir fry dish instead of the pasta. For dessert we both ordered
the chocolate cake with ice cream. After dinner we got a couple of drinks to
enjoy at our balcony.
