Vienna Spring 2018 - Part 1

Surprise Trip To Vienna

Thursday - May 10th 2018

Nearly each year Claudia and I hike to Lake Tappenkar and this year was no exception.  Once we arrived at the parking lot from where the hiking path starts, we were a little bit surprised that there were hardly any cars. At first we really didn't care about that, but along the way we didn't come across many people. Granted, it was early in the hiking season, but the weather was actually quite good. After an hour we realized why there weren't any other people, because there was still plenty of snow on top of the mountain which blocked the way to the lake. Since it got a little bit dangerous, we decided to return. Back at parking lot we saw a sign that indicated that the season starts on June 1st. We could have saved a lot of time, if we just saw the sign when we left the car. Since we were a little bit frustrated with the whole situation, we spantaneously booked a hotel in Vienna for the weekend.

Since we still had to pack our luggage, we didn't arrive in Vienna before the evening. After we unloaded our stuff and checked in, we headed into the city for dinner at Veggiezz, a new vegan restaurant in town. There we also enjoyed a couple of cocktails until we returned to the hotel
