Last year my father in law celebrated his 60th birthday and his present was a
trip to London. Claudia and I have been to London several times and so we
organized the whole trip. Our
easyjet flight departed from
Munich early morning and after an uneventful two hours flight, we arrived at
London Gatwick airport. After immigration we collected our luggage and soon we
were on board the
Gatwick Express to London
Victoria. There we bought our
Oyster Cards
and then we headed to Wandsworth. Like during our
last trip
to London, we stayed at the
Holiday Inn Express
again, because it was easy to reach, it offered free breakfast, the emplyees
were very friendly and the rooms were fine and very clean.

After we checked in, we took the train back into the city, where we got off at
Waterloo Station. Unfortunately the weather was bad, it rained heavily, we
decided to have a welcome drink at
The Admiralty pub
near National Gallery. Luckily the clouds cleared and we strolled around the
inner city. From the National Gallery we headed to Piccadilly Circus and from
there to Leicester Square. Before we returned to Wandsworth we had an early
dinner at Chipotle and walked
along The Mall to Buckingham Palace. Back in Wandsworth we got some snacks and
later we had some drinks at the hotel bar.
