Munich Spring 2015 - Part 1

Going To Munich

Friday - May 29th 2015

Recently my dad celebrated his 60th birthday and as a present, the whole family went to Munich to spend the weekend there together. Friday after work Claudia and I drove to Munich and met with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend at the Motel One Deutsches Museum. After we checked in, we had a welcome drink at the hotel bar and then went to the Hans Im Glück Burger Grill restaurant, where we had a lovely dinner together. Most of us ordered a burger and like always the food was delicious. Later we strolled around the inner city and enjoyed a beer at the famous Augustiner Bräu. Back at the hotel my sister and her boyfriend arrived and so we had another drink at the bar before we went to bed.

Munich Spring 2015 - Part 2

Celebrating My Dad's Birthday

Saturday - May 30th 2015

Although the hotel offered breakfast for an additional fee, we decided to go somewhere else. We ended up at Coffee Fellows and after a nice breakfast with bagels, we took the subway to the Munich Olympic Park. There we visited the BMW World and the BMW Museum. In the BMW World guests can explore all the new models from BMW, Mini Cooper and Rolls-Royce. There are also cafes, restaurants and a BMW merchandise shop. After spending some time there, we went over to the BMW Museum, which shows the history of Bavarian Motor Works. We enjoyed both the Museum and the World a lot and it's definitely worth a visit..

In the early afternoon we were back in the inner city and grabbed a snack at the Viktualienmarkt. Since the city got very crowded, we decided to go to the Chinese Tower Beer Garden in the English Garden. There we had a great time with a couple of beers until it was time for our dinner reservation at the Ratskeller inside the Munich city hall. After a wonderful dinner we returned to the hotel, where we watched the soccer game at the hotel bar.

Munich Spring 2015 - Part 3

Nymphenburg Palace

Sunday - May 31st 2015

Today was our last day in Munich and so we had planned something special. For breakfast we went to Hotel Louis, which offered a fantastic brunch. Claudia and I had been there several times before and we always enjoyed it a lot. And so did my family this time. After a lovely brunch, we returned to the hotel, checked out and then we drove to Nymphenburg Palace. There we took a walk through the beautiful park and in the early afternoon we were on our way back home.
