Venice 2013 - Part 3

A Beautiful Day In Venice

Saturday - June 1st 2013

Today the weather was really nice. The sun was shining and it was quite warm. So after breakfast we were on our way back to Venice. We used the waterbus to tour the Canal Grande from Piazzo San Marco in the south to the railway station in the north. There we changed to another line to see the cruise ships in the harbour of Venice.

Afterwards we got off the boat near the Biennale. There we walked though the wonderful garden back to Via Giuseppe Garibaldi until we found a small vegetarian restaurant. Since it was already noon we ordered some fresh salads to go and ate them in a nearby park.

Later we found a very nice bar with reasonable prices and so we decided to order two Aperol Spritz and two Espresso Coffees. We enjoyed sitting there and so it was no suprised that we ordered another round, but due to the warm weather I opted for a cold beer.

Along some small canals we walked back to Piazza San Marco and made some last pictures. After a last stop at the Hard Rock Cafe, where we met a very friendly Chinese Tour Guide, we returned to Chioggia, since it started to rain again.

Back in Chioggia we went to a nearby supermarket and then we got ready for the evening. Like the days before we went to the Ristorante El Fontego again. And of course we ordered the same dishes. Later we made some pictures of that lovely town and after a glass of Coke at the hotel bar we returned to our room.

Returning Home

Sunday - June 2nd 2013

As I mentioned in the first post, the weather was really bad in Austria, but unfortunately it got worse. After breakfast we drove back and soon we heard of the terrible news back home. Floodings hit Austria badly. Finally in the early afternoon we arrived in Salzburg and saw in the news what had happened while we were gone. Luckily the city wasn't hit that bad, but the surrounding areas were.
